Two layered silver clay leaves hang together on a delicate sterling silver chain. Each leaf is made by carefully brushing layer upon layer of silver clay paste over its surface — working it into every vein, serrated edge, and subtle curve until the leaf's full character is held within the clay. When placed in the kiln, something remarkable happens: the genuine rose leaf burns away completely, reduced to nothing by the heat, while the silver sinters and solidifies around the ghost of what was there. What remains is a fine silver leaf — bearing the exact imprint of the original. A real piece of nature, gone, yet preserved forever in precious metal.
The rich green alcohol ink adds depth and a jewel-like lustre, making this piece as striking up close as it is from afar.
