Silver clay begins as tiny particles of silver mixed with water and an organic binder. It can be shaped and textured by hand before being dried and fired. During firing, the binder burns away and the silver particles fuse together, leaving solid silver, not ceramic clay or silver plating. This process allows delicate textures and individual handmade details to become part of the metal itself.
